Cahill’s Porter is an infused cheddar made by the Cahill family on their farm in the lush green pasturelands of Limerick. It is the difinitive Irish Porter Cheese. Cahill’s Porter is matured for 10 months and infused with a plain, Guinness brewed, Irish porter. It has light caramel, smoky undertones and a beautiful, black & white marbling: perfect to add a splash of colour to your cheese board.
The Cahill family having been working their land since 1902 when David Cahill, having found his fortune in the US, returned to his native Ireland and bought a plot of land in Newcastle, West Limerick, for £900. Since then, four generations of Cahill have developed this small farm into the world renowned cheese producer that it is today.
In 1985 Marian Cahill, while raising a growing family, created a range of handcrafted Irish cheeses; Cahill’s Porter was born. Over time the range of infused cheeses grew to include Cahills Original Irish Porter, Original Irish Whiskey, Ardagh Wine, Ballintubber With Chives, Ballyporeen with Garlic and Herbs, Cheddar with Hazelnuts and Smoked Cheddar with Limerick Ham – a number of which we sell here at Indie Füde.
Cahill’s Porter also comes in individual mini wheels, making it the perfect cheesy gift!
